Event Designer Jill Mulvaney joined the JAM team at Curtis in 2021 part-time as she missed her specialty foods sales career she had left years ago to raise her family. While having a passion for the hospitality industry and doing some of her own catering over the years, Jill needed to be around more of all things people, parties & food! She also enjoys playing and teaching tennis & pickleball, traveling with her husband & spending time at the Jersey shore with her three children and extended families.
If you were a food, what would you be?
I would be a croissant as there are “several layers” to my life experiences. I also love anything sweet or savory in which a croissant can be filled with. “Rising up” to and always available for any occasion!
What is your favorite thing to cook or bake?
Well, if you know me…I rarely make the same thing twice as I usually just make things up with what I have in my house. I do not have a ton of patience for long recipes although I collect cookbooks old and new and read or look at them often. I am more of a food stylist or the presentation of food and atmosphere is my gift. But, if would answer your question, it would have to be anything from my own Mother’s collection of cooking and baking. She was a private caterer and an amazing cook and baker for over 50 years in Bucks County, PA. I have seen her make so many dishes in my lifetime without using a recipe and I just love her Chicken Francaise which I can make easily and it reminds me of my childhood kitchen. My mother would be making 10 things ( a true gift ) all at once while preparing for her parties and I would just be stirring maybe chocolate on the stove for a mousse or the dough for her homemade rolls or tart shells. It was never ending!
